N-methylformamide is a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid that is hygroscopic, miscible with water and ethanol, and has a pungent odor. It is an important organic synthetic raw material and intermediate, widely used in many fields.
The physical properties of N-methylformamide include: melting point -4°C, boiling point 182.5°C, density 0.873g/cm³, flash point 111°C. It is easily decomposed in acidic or alkaline solutions and is hygroscopic.
