Methacrylic acid is an important organic compound with the chemical formula C4H6O2. It is a colorless crystalline powder or colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor and is soluble in most organic solvents such as water, ethanol, and ether. Methacrylic acid is a key organic chemical raw material and polymer intermediate with a wide range of applications, including but not limited to the manufacture of coatings, insulating materials, adhesives, and ion exchange resins.
