Polyethyleneimine is a cationic polymer with a molecular formula of C2H5N and a molecular weight of 43.06. Its physical and chemical properties include: density of 1.030 g/mL (25°C), boiling point of 250°C, melting point of 59-60°C, appearance of light yellow liquid, and good water solubility.
Main uses
Biomedicine: Polyethyleneimine is used as a gene delivery carrier to help deliver genes into cells for gene therapy and vaccine development.
Materials science: In nanotechnology and surface modification, as a component of surfactants and functional coatings.
