Chemical name: 1-cyclopropyl-7-(4-ethyl-1-piperazinyl)-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid
Molecular formula: C19H22FN3O3
Properties: slightly yellow or light yellow crystalline powder, odorless, slightly bitter, slightly soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol.

Pharmacological action
Mechanism of action: It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, hinders DNA synthesis, and causes bacterial death. It has strong antibacterial activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
Antibacterial spectrum: It has good antibacterial effects on a variety of bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, etc., especially for common pathogens such as intestinal infections, respiratory infections, and urogenital tract infections of livestock and poultry.

Pharmacokinetics
After oral or injection administration, enrofloxacin is rapidly absorbed in the animal body and has a high bioavailability. It can be widely distributed in various tissues and body fluids of animals, including lungs, liver, kidneys, muscles, joint fluids, etc., and the drug concentration in some tissues can be higher than the blood drug concentration. Most of the drugs are excreted in their original form through the kidneys, and a small part is excreted with bile after metabolism in the liver.

Clinical application
Livestock and poultry disease prevention and control: It is commonly used to treat Escherichia coli disease, salmonellosis, mycoplasma pneumonia, pleuropneumonia, etc. in pigs; Escherichia coli disease, salmonellosis, chronic respiratory diseases, etc. in chickens; gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, etc. in cattle and sheep.
