C16-C18 fatty alcohol, also known as cetostearyl alcohol or cetearyl alcohol, is an important fatty alcohol mixture. Its main components include octadecanol (C18H380) and hexadecanol (C16H340), usually in the form of white granules, flakes or blocks
Chemical properties
The chemical formula of C16-C18 fatty alcohol is a mixture of C16H340 and C18H380. Its melting point is generally between 48~50C, the density is about 0.842g/cm³, it is easily soluble in ethanol, but almost insoluble in water

Uses
C16-C18 fatty alcohols are widely used in many fields:
