Isopropyl palmitate has the common properties of higher fatty acid esters, such as hydrolysis, aminolysis, ester exchange, etc., but it is relatively stable at room temperature and is not easy to undergo these reactions. The reaction conditions required are relatively intense.
Uses
Isopropyl palmitate is widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, mainly as an additive and solubilizer. In skin care and cosmetics, it is an excellent skin softener that can make the skin soft and smooth without greasy feeling. It has good skin permeability and is often used in skin creams, hair oils, eye shadows, lipsticks, mascara and other formulas.
