What is Calcitriol ?
Calcitriol is a 1,25-dihydroxy metabolite with the strongest anti-rickets activity after vitamin D3 is metabolized by liver and kidney hydroxylase. It can promote the absorption of calcium in the intestine; it can stimulate the activity of the original osteoclasts or accelerate the formation of new osteoclasts, thereby promoting the absorption of bone, so that the calcium and phosphorus in the blood can be transferred into the blood circulation; it can promote the calcium and phosphorus in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney The absorption of phosphorus increases blood calcium and phosphorus concentrations.
