Triethanolamine borate, with the chemical formula (C2H5O)3N-B(OH)2, is also known as triethanolamine borate. It is a colorless to yellow crystalline powder with good water solubility and stability, and is weakly alkaline in water. The compound is a strong coordination reagent that can form complexes with many metal ions.

2. Uses

Triethanolamine borate is widely used in chemical analysis, organic synthesis and other fields. The following are its main uses:

1. Metal complexing reagent: triethanolamine borate can form stable metal complexes. After complexing with elements such as antimony,  and bismuth, the complex formed can be used as a reagent for atomic fluorescence analysis; after complexing with elements such as cobalt, nickel, and copper, the complex formed can be used in organic synthesis and drug research.

2. Organic synthesis reagent: triethanolamine borate can be used as an initiator to participate in free radical polymerization reactions, such as the synthesis of high molecular weight compounds such as polyvinyl alcohol.

3. Other uses: triethanolamine borate can also be used as an electroplating intermediate, catalyst, etc.
