1. What is benzisothiazolinone?
Benzisothiazolinone is a major industrial bactericidal, preservative and anti-enzyme agent. It has a prominent inhibitory effect on the growth of mold (fungi, bacteria), algae and other microorganisms in organic media, solving a series of problems such as mildew, fermentation, deterioration, demulsification, and odor of organic products caused by microbial growth.
2. Isothiazolinone is formalin
They are two different substances. 1. Isothiazolinone, Chinese alias: Kasen preservative; Songkai preservative; a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-1-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-1-isothiazolin-3-one; (5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one) (2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one); Kasen. 5-chloro-2-methyl-1-isothiazolin-3-one is abbreviated as CMIT, and 2-methyl-1-isothiazolin-3-one is abbreviated as MIT.
Uses: When isothiazolinone 2 is used as a clay stripping agent, the concentration is 150-300 mg/L; when used as a fungicide, it is added once every 3-7 days, and the dosage is 80-100 mg/L. It can be used simultaneously with oxidizing fungicides such as chlorine, but cannot be used in cooling water systems containing sulfides. The combined use of isothiazolinone quaternary ammonium salt has better results.
When isothiazolinone is used as an industrial bactericide, the general concentration is 0.05-0.4%. 2. Formalin "Formalin; Fumeilin is a formaldehyde (HCHO) aqueous solution, colorless and transparent, corrosive, and because the formaldehyde contained in it is highly volatile, it will emit a strong pungent odor after opening the bottle. Formaldehyde is a compound of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Under normal circumstances, it is in a gaseous state and has the characteristics of strongly irritating the eye membrane and respiratory organs [1].
When the formaldehyde content is 35% to 40% (generally 37%), 10% to 15% methanol is also added to prevent polymerization. It has antiseptic, disinfectant, and bleaching functions. Different fields have different functions.
