Sodium sulfite is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Na2SO3. It is a sulfite of sodium and is mainly used as a stabilizer for artificial fibers, fabric bleach, photographic developer, dyeing and bleaching deoxidizer, spice and dye reducing agent, and lignin remover for papermaking.

Application

Used for trace analysis and determination of tellurium and niobium, as well as preparation of developer solutions, and also as a reducing agent;
The printing and dyeing industry, as a deoxidizer and bleach, is used for the cooking of various cotton fabrics, which can prevent local oxidation of cotton fibers and affect fiber strength, and improve the whiteness of the cooked fabric.
