Acrylic acid is a colorless liquid with a strong pungent odor. It has a boiling point of 141°C, a melting point of 13°C, a density of 1.051 g/cm³, and is easily soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. In terms of chemical properties, the double bonds and carboxyl groups of acrylic acid enable it to undergo addition reactions, esterification, polymerization, and other reactions. Acrylic acid is easy to polymerize, especially in the presence of light, heat, and peroxides, it will quickly polymerize into polyacrylic acid.
Main uses of acrylic acid
The application field of acrylic acid is very wide, mainly including:
Paints and varnishes: Acrylic acid is the basic monomer for the production of acrylate resins. This type of resin is used to make high-performance coatings and paints, has good weather resistance and adhesion, and is widely used in the construction and automotive industries.

Water treatment: Acrylic polymers are used as flocculants and thickeners in water treatment processes to effectively improve water quality.
