Methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride, referred to as methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride (MHHPA), is a colorless transparent liquid. Methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride has a saturated and stable six-membered ring structure and exists in a liquid state. It is an important intermediate in electronic information materials, medicine, pesticides, resins, and defense industries. In recent years, it has been widely used, mainly in epoxy resin curing agents, coatings, plasticizers, adhesives, pesticides, rust inhibitors, etc.
When methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride is used as an epoxy resin anhydride curing agent, in addition to the general properties of methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride (high purity, light color, low viscosity, low volatility, low heating loss, stable performance, long application period, low freezing point and long-term storage at room temperature, etc.), it also has better performance than methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride: colorless transparent liquid, after adding accelerator, except for the color of the accelerator itself, it basically does not change color, and the epoxy cured product has a light color; excellent heat resistance, especially at 150°C, the epoxy cured product has excellent mechanical and electrical properties; outstanding weather resistance, not affected by light and heat, good moisture resistance; high reaction activity, short gel time.
It is used in the electrical and electronic fields, with low melting point, low viscosity of the mixture composed of alicyclic epoxy resin, long application period, high heat resistance of the cured product, and excellent high-temperature electrical properties. In addition to being suitable for the use of methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride, it is particularly suitable for outdoor solidified products such as cast outdoor insulators, capacitors, light-emitting diodes, sports and entertainment equipment, and other products that require good resistance to outdoor ultraviolet light and moisture.
