It can be complexed with metal ions. Its 1% aqueous solution has a pH of 10.0-10.2. It has the general properties of ordinary polymeric phosphate, that is, it has emulsification, dispersion, prevents fat oxidation, improves protein adhesion, and also has the effect of inhibiting the oxidation and fermentation of food at high pH.

Application

1. The electroplating industry is used to prepare electroplating solutions, which can form complexes with iron. In the wool industry, it is used as a wool degreaser and bleaching agent. The paper industry is used for the bleaching of paper and plant fibers. The printing and dyeing industry is used as an auxiliary in printing and dyeing and fine bleaching. It is used as a toothpaste additive in the daily chemical industry, which can form a colloid with dicalcium phosphate and play a stabilizing role, and can also be used to synthesize detergents and produce shampoo paste and other products. It is used as a water softener in water treatment. It is used as a rust remover in machining. It is used as a dispersant and emulsifier in chemical production. It can also be used as a water treatment agent, oil drilling, etc., and as a quality improver, emulsifier, buffer, chelating agent in the food industry, etc.

2. In addition to the function of softening water, sodium pyrophosphate can also redissolve insoluble salts of calcium and magnesium, such as the dirt formed by insoluble calcium soap or other metal soaps in the fiber of clothes, which can redissolve it and improve the decontamination ability. In addition, sodium pyrophosphate has a reverse flocculation effect, which makes the oil emulsify, which is called colloidal properties. It can also make the surfactant solution further reduce the surface tension and interfacial tension, and play the role of washing aid.
