Physical properties: The melting point of triethylene glycol is -4.3ºC, the boiling point is between 289.4ºC (101.3kPa) and 134ºC (0.267kPa), the relative density is 1.1274 at 15ºC, the refractive index is 1.4578 (15ºC), the flash point is 177ºC (closed cup)/196ºC (open cup), the ignition point is 412.8ºC, the vapor pressure is 1Pa at 20ºC, and the viscosity is 49.0 mPa.s (20ºC).
Uses: Triethylene glycol has a wide range of uses in many industries. It can be used as a solvent for aromatic extraction, a solvent for rubber and , a diesel additive, rocket fuel, etc. In addition, triethylene glycol can also be used as a plasticizer, and has important applications in the pharmaceutical, coating, textile, printing and dyeing, food, papermaking, cosmetics, leather, photography, printing, metal processing and other industries. It is often used as a textile auxiliary, solvent, rubber and resin plasticizer, as well as a lubricant viscosity improver and an aromatic extractor for reforming liquid.
