Tetrabromophthalic anhydride (TBPA) is an important organic compound with a molecular formula of C8Br403 and a molecular weight of 463.701. It appears as a white or light yellow powder with a density of 2.771 g/cm3, a melting point between 270 and 281°C, a boiling point of 540.5°C (760 mmHg), and a flash point of 280.7°C. Tetrabromophthalic anhydride is soluble in nitrobenzene and dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in acetone, methanol, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, and acetic acid, but insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents.
Storage conditions
Tetrabromophthalic anhydride is chemically active, and it is easy to hydrolyze and deteriorate if left for a long time, and it has strong hygroscopicity. Therefore, it needs to be sealed and stored in a low temperature (2-8 degrees) and dry environment.
