N-dodecane is a colorless, transparent liquid with a chemical formula of C12H26 and a molecular weight of 170.33. It is insoluble in water, but easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, acetone. The melting point of n-dodecane is -9.6°C, the boiling point is between 215-217°C, the flash point is 71°C, and the density is 0.753g/cm³.
N-dodecane is mainly used in organic synthesis, as a solvent, and as a standard substance for chromatographic analysis. In addition, it is also used as a phase change material and is widely used in pharmaceutical cold chain logistics, phase change energy storage buildings, textile phase change microcapsules, and electronic component temperature control.
