2. Physical properties
Appearance: white or light yellow crystals, easy to deliquesce, easy to sublime at room temperature.

Melting point: about 156~159°C (literature values may vary slightly)

Boiling point: 174°C

Density: 1.02 g/mL (under specific conditions)

Vapor pressure: 2.9 mm Hg (at 50°C)

Refractive index: n20/D 1.4634 (lit.)

Flash point: 198°F (or 98°C, slightly different depending on the test method)

Solubility: easily soluble in water, acetone, benzene and ethanol, soluble in straight-chain hydrocarbons such as pentane, hexane and heptane.

III. Chemical properties
Alkalinity: weakly alkaline, can absorb CO2 in the air and turn yellow.

Stability: stable, but highly hygroscopic, incompatible with strong oxidants and strong acids.

Flammability: highly flammable, with an autoignition temperature of 350°C.

4. Uses
Catalyst: Triethylenediamine is an important chemical raw material, widely used as a catalyst for polyurethane foam, elastomers and plastic products, and an accelerator for epoxy resin curing. In addition, it is also an ethylene polymerization catalyst, acrylonitrile polymerization catalyst.

Other uses: as an initiator in pesticide synthesis and as an additive in cyanide-free electroplating. At the same time, its derivatives can also be used as corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers, etc.

5. Preparation or source
Dichloroethane ammonolysis method: a co-product in the preparation of ethylenediamine.

Piperazine ammonolysis method: TEDA is prepared using piperazine and its derivatives, with a high product yield, a mature process, and has been industrialized.

Other methods: also include ammonolysis methods using N-hydroxyethylpiperazine, N-aminoethylpiperazine, N,N dihydroxyethylpiperazine as raw materials, and ammonolysis methods using diethanolamine and ethylene oxide as raw materials.

VI. Toxicity and safety
Toxicity: Rabbit oral LD50 is 700~1100mg/kg, rat oral LD50 is 1700mg/kg (values in different literature may vary slightly).

Safety terms: including keeping away from fire, immediately flushing with plenty of water and seeking medical advice after accidental contact with eyes, keeping in a cool place, wearing appropriate gloves and goggles or masks, etc.

Risk terms: including highly flammable, harmful if swallowed, irritating to eyes and skin, serious damage to eyes, and harmful to aquatic life, etc.

VII. Storage and transportation
Storage conditions: should be stored in a dry place, never heated, and should not be stored and transported with acidic substances.

Packaging: iron barrels lined with meat paper bags and plastic bags are commonly used for packaging.
